Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a good week, and you are now ready to report what you plan on doing on this last weekend of October. Let's get started.

Saturday: After a marathon of making sawdust in the garage for the past few weekends, I hope to slow down a bit and enjoy some time with family. The morning will be spent with Angela and her dad as we visit Bloomington then who knows what we will do. I really need to get the cars cleaned up and the Mustang ready for winter storage.

Sunday: Will start with a fresh cup of coffee, brewed from my 1950's stove top percolator I inherited from Angela's grandmother. This will get the wheels of progress going with the plan to finish up the 1/4-inch fascia on all sides of the HO modules. I hope to finish sand and stain at that point. Once the stain is applied, I'll start adding coats of poly to seal it all in. The next project will be to build the foundation that will set on my metal shelving brackets and ultimately hold the modules. This will allow me to level the 1X3 frame foundation so I can place the modules and ensure they are level each time. After that, if I have time, I'll work on the backdrop.

So how about you? What do you have planned this last weekend of October? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Halloween Monday to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Happy Friday. Not much football this weekend as my team played (and won) last night. This weekend model RR plans are:
More scenery at the river. Get it ready for pouring water, it is almost there.
    Finish up some electrical wiring.
More work on the elevated bridge.

Of course, as usual, all is subject to change depending on what hits me when I walk into the layout room.

    Have a great weekend all!

Good morning from sunny and cool Northeast Ohio, warming trend starting tomorrow!

Friday, have a funeral today for a neighborhood friends husband, then some modeling and then bowling tonight.

Saturday, to the club in the morning so I can try out my new Tangent Covered Coil Gons on a train along with some good conversations. Then later in the day continue decaling some cars and start on a Tangent 86' Boxcar kit.

Sunday, just run some errands and finish decal work along with constructing the boxcar kit.

I’m not sure. Long week at work so I’m going to take it slow. I’ve got a few ConCor autoracks to work on and I’ve got some coalveyors in C&D service I should finish up as well.

I'll be watching college football Saturday, and Sunday we're going to my wife's sister's house all day.

    So, no modeling for me...

    Hmm... you still have
    today, Kiz... Or did you
    forget you're retired...?

We will have nice fall weather so I'll try to enjoy it. Maybe run the train for a while after dark.

    Good morning all,

We were away for a short trip last week so will be catching up on some household and yard chores. It's now cool enough to start using the heater in the train room. This weekend will be repeat of last with additions to the upper helix and maybe some structure and scenery work. Everyone enjoy your weekend whatever you are doing.

Yesterday I received an HOn30 caboose kit. So hopefully some progress assembling that. Plenty to do. It is just deciding where to try and focus, beyond perhaps watching a little football. :)

1950's percolator! River scenery. Eight-six "foots" long! SD-7 moving along. "Coalveyors". :sneaky: Reaching new heights! Sounds like a "sister-in-law Sunday". Get outside while it's sunny. ;) Chores! Seems like the focus, across the board is football. (y) To recap, I got roofs on and support elevation installed. Laser cut fifty-ton hopper side sheets have reporting marks and road name on the sides. The sides are attached to the end sheets. New idea for the end frames is being worked on. ;) We will see. Have a "funderfull" weekend. :D

I’ve had the whole week off this week so work on the modules have progressed.

Track is down and all feeder wires have been soldered in place. Slide switches which will be used to control the switches are prepped. Just waiting for some #2 screws to show up so they can be installed.

Saturday: hope to have to power bus installed to make the modules operational. Then it’s time to make a couple cuts at where the modules separate.

I will have a rack of structure kits to build for this module set.

Also I will be prepping for the show next weekend.

    Ops session in the afternoon

    Sunday: pretty much the same

Awright already. I did finish putting the brake gear on the underframes on the last 10 of 12 Tichy sugar beet gondolas a few minutes ago. Satisfied?

    Hmm... yeah, but didn't
    you forget to put the
    weights in the under-
    frames...?

Might try and replace some more sectional pieces with flex track on my main 2' x 4' base, might? I did take down the second base for the L, as it was giving me issues all of a sudden. Decided, and I change my mind all the time, to just focus on the main base for now, very slowly. We will see?
