Good morning, good evening, wherever you may be. Gather around, grab a chair and sit down. It's time to discus what we have planned for the weekend. Saturday: Tonight, I'll be loading up the little Focus in preparation for a show on Saturday. Contoocook NH is having it's 3rd annual train show and the City Job will be on display and running. This small show is a show I have wanted to go to for a while. If the town of Contoocook or "Tooky" as the locals call it, sounds familiar, then you maybe a B&M modeler. A committee has lovingly restored the depot, a B&M parlor car and the covered bridge that once had held track that was once the Claremont and Concord mainline. I'm looking forward to the show and hoping to find one or two HO cars I'm looking for. Sunday: Will be my domestic duty day. Shopping, laundry and cleaning. I also picked up a new toy yesterday, a Harley Davidson XL1200 Sportster. I hope to get that cleaned up and see about getting that on the road and put the Ski-Doo in for summer storage. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 6th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Last year the them was trees trees trees. This year the theme is rolling stock rolling stock rolling stock. I have two boxes of rolling stock that need wheels, couplers, weathering, paint, decals, or just need to be built if not all the above. I received my order of decals and ordered more so I will start the process of finishing these items. Everything from cars to engines. Engines needing paint, decals, and/or decoders. Sunday I will start a scratch build structure that I drew up last weekend. I also have one structure needing a little touch up with paint and I am going to use a graffiti decal to cover up a spot that doesn’t lol all that good. Monday I’m not sure what I’ll get done. I need to get an X-ray in the morning and visit the LHS for some more wheels then in the afternoon I promised my wife to go see end game.
For once, I don't have a specific plan in mind. Except, for heading up to the train room -- and, hoping I get inspired to start on something. I will begin by cleaning my track -- and running some trains. Report on Monday. Hope Y'all have an outstanding weekend, Wolf
Hope to finish the wiring under the layout that I didn't end up getting to do last weekend. May even work on the backdrop a little if time permits.
Waiting on supplies ordered, so unsure at this moment. May need to dig out a different project and start that one- getting a Shapeways HOn30 critter shell prepped and detailed. We shall see...
I don't know much of anything about motorbikes, but I really like the Sportster. Nicely sized and a fine looker too. My wife and I sometimes stop by our Harley dealer just for the fun of it. We're both gearheads, but are the four wheel type.
I ballasted the new track that I laid last week, I plan to sift some dirt and add ground foam, maybe a rock or two, I have a rock mold that I have never used
I hope to get some more work done of the Green Diamond trucks. I haven’t touched my workbench all week, so progress is slow.
Not sure why I've always wanted a HD. Maybe the same reason why I love Jeeps so much. My favorite show when I was a kid was CHiPs but those were Kawasaki's. I guess the bug got me when I saw "Easy Rider" and that sweet custom chopper "Captain America".
