Hard to believe that today is the last day of May and June will be here tomorrow. Welcome back everyone, time to gather around and tell each other what you have planned for the weekend. Saturday: I am off to East Central Illinois to attend my step daughters Baby Shower. Yup, Jim is going to be a crazy train gumpa! Other than seeing some Class 1 prototype action, I don't think I'll be doing much railroading. Being with Angela, the kids and two crazy Beagles will be enough excitement for me but I will love it as I miss them so much. Sunday: Angela and I are planning on spending the day together and planning for our future. The job I had out here in NH dried up and we are now looking at other options including me moving back to Illinois. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. Because of all that is going on, the Monday updates may be a bit late. Monday and Tuesday will be hectic as I get things done in Illinois before flying back to NH. Regardless, we'll assemble once again on Monday, June 3rd to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
Let's see --- what shall I do-? Saturday: -- Next up for an oil change --- the Wife's car. (Hopefully, this goes much better) -- I did the last oil change myself, so the oil filter should not be an issue. Then - I will get back to my caboose project. Shave off the molded on hand grabs and clean up the roof walk mounting holes. Start making and installing the new grabs and roof walk. And -- adapt some Atlas outside braced boxcar shells to my track cleaning chassis. Haven't decided if I'll leave the current lettering on them or re-letter them into SPMW -- leaning towards re-lettering. Sunday: -- depends on where I'm at with Saturday's goals. Hope Y'all have a great weekend!! Wolf
Preparations continue for a big Saturday for me. I am off this weekend due to my sone graduating from high school so we will see where it takes me. I fixed a dead piece of track this past week after running some trains. Found my programming track is having issues. Hopefully I will get that fixed today. After the visit from the NMRA this weekend I need to take some time off from modeling. I have a couple things to do to the house and other stuff dealing with summer.
Got train track being delivered today to finish connecting up my ancient layout so the goal this weekend to get track temporarily laid, get train running continuously over that portion of the layout for the first time in about 10 years! Train will leave the former TimeSaver module and then proceed to the folded figure 8. For more info, see https://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/modified-time-saver-layout.100022/page-2.
This weekend, plan on getting out the air-brush. I have a couple of building kits I want to start as well as some other paint projects that have been ignored. Also, betwixt and between painting honey-do's, I hope to do something unheard of... run some dang trains!
Also going to get my new air compressor set up and try out the airbrush with it. It's a Harbor Freight 3 gal, hot dog from Central Pneumatic. Coupon for weekend sale took price down to abt $45. Now waiting on air dryer and fittings from Amazon, due tomorrow. Hopefully will be quieter than my old Miller 2000.
