Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a great week. Looks like we had a lot of motivation last weekend, let's see if we can keep the momentum going.

Friday: I'm in West Springfield Massachusetts for the Amherst Railroad Hobby Show. Today we'll set up the Athearn booth, broadcast the February Announcements from the booth and get as much done before the show opens tomorrow. I'll probably get a chance to look around a bit too.

Saturday: Day one of the show. While this is probably my favorite show, I will not be free to wander the four buildings like I normally would as I'll be working the Athearn booth all day. We have a live announcement at the booth at 10:30am then visit with all the folks attending. If you are here, we'll be in the Mallary building, section 126, stop by and introduce yourself and say hi. I will need to visit the B&M Historical booth and renew my membership and visit with them as well as pick up a book or two. Should be a fun day.

Sunday: Day two of the show. No doubt me and my crew will be tired but at 4:00pm we got to pack up the booth and get ready for Monday's very early departure.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the last January weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 30th. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

Another weekend, another test of Moose's resolve...

    Friday:
Da Moose's head to the Tacoma Home and Garden Show to see what fun remodeling projects there might be to which Moose can unsuccessfullly try to avoid committing moose-self.

Share a nice late lunch with Mrs Moose and drown sarrows in beer over aforementioned predicted failure.

Continue designing alternative locomotive and tender shells for a few steam locomotive projects: an NP Z-4 tender, the dreaded GN A-9 locomotive shell redo (maybe) and an SP&S D-5 tender shell. Or was that an NP D-5 tender shell? Or both?

    Saturday:
Continue the aforementioned design projects, both n-scale and a remodeling 1:1 laundry project (replace flooring).

    Sunday:
Same as Saturday with the added bonus of watching the AFC and NFC Championship games.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

No modeling plans at all, but a big weekend for our family. Today, Friday, we're heading for the airport, and by (late) bedtime should be at our son's house in Texas (outside of Fort Hood).

Tomorrow, Saturday, after many preparations, there will be a small wedding in his backyard.

Sunday, I think, we will just rest and enjoy each other's company, and on Monday, we fly home.

Congrats @Pastor John. He may be doing the marrying - and shouldering the after work, but no doubt you have shown him the important things of being a man who is considered marriagable.

Last weekend I spent all day Saturday cleaning and sorting and such. Would that I could get that this weekend. But two of the the kids have belt testing in karate Saturday AM, and our Scouts BSA troop will be putting out our annual Scouting for Food flyers Saturday PM. Sunday we bat clean-up around the house.

Friday, this afternoon I am going for a refresher course in taping the lanes before we have the State Tournament next month. Then I have a Zoom meeting regarding the Tournament this evening before going bowling tonight.

Saturday, going to the train club in the morning to run some trains and have some good conversation. Hopefully in the evening I can do some decalling on a Covered Hopper and a Boxcar.

Sunday, finish up the decalling and continue work on another covered hopper kit along with a boxcar of my choice.

Greetings and happy Friday. Quite a few miscellaneous tasks as always. Right now the big idea for this weekend is build up the shelf area where the elevated bridge will reside. That needs to occur before I advance the bridge much further so I can start getting an exact idea on exactly how high the vertical supports will need to be. Since the supports are an integral part of this kit, I need to get this done.

There is basketball too this weekend. Both NC State men's and women's teams are playing. One Saturday and one Sunday. So I will take a break and watch those. Anything else that happens is gravy as it were.

Enjoy the show Jim! One of my bucket list items is to trundle up from North Carolina to Mass' and hit that show one year.

Well, Friday (today) is a regular work day so that pretty much takes care of the day.

Saturday, going to an event with my son over on the other side of town that will take up a good bit of the day. Might be able to sneak away for a bit and go the the LHS that is over that way if I'm lucky.

Sunday afternoon will have the usual chores that need to get done but I hope to finish up the M/T auto frames loads I started and figure out which flat I want to mount them on. That should just about cover the entire weekend.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

    Good morning all,

This weekend I plan to work on some layout scenery around the river on the east side of the Palisade Tunnels and also the scrap yard on the west side of Carlin. Photos of any progress on Monday.

    Have a great weekend.

Had a good week modeling wise. Adapted my driver fixture (Rec C.1) for more accuracy. Made a test cut. Feel good about it which brings me to the next step:

Friday: Big objective is tuning up the hobby laser to enable better quality. I have learned a great deal this past year having it around. Made several fun side projects which has endeared the machine to my wife and myself. I would describe it as "fiddly." I find it difficult to keep adjusted properly for really accurate projects, especially the miniature things I need for N gauge. So, I "fiddle" with the mechanical adjustments every time. Maybe it's the machine, maybe it's me, but I think it is a case of you get what you pay for. Have a few domestic chores to attend to like groceries as well.

Saturday: Depends on how Friday goes. The objective is to cut some test discs to fill the cavity I cut into the driver face. If that is successful, then I will modify the actual drivers for the project. No turning back at that point. Make 'em right or throw 'em away. Soccer match to watch in the afternoon.

Sunday: Early morning soccer match. Hopefully, we can get out for some brunch after. Modeling activity determined by progress made Friday and Saturday.

    Stay safe,

This weekend, I am hoping to make some more liveries -- I need to do a big batch of Coal Cars (bethgons) as coal is a major commodity on the SLRG (digital) I would like to continue running some trains as well -- Im getting (slowly to the point where there are enough cars in the walsenburg yard to start the regular run of trains -- I have some things to figure out in JMRI as well -- I want to get passenger service running as well and also the excursion service -- thats going to take a bit of working yet but its something to fiddle with

Well, I would like to get that engine house painted. However, by the time I get home from work Sunday morning, shower, eat, do laundry... I will likely fall victim to watching a football game, then off to sleep. I am also a bit diverted to another hobby. Having been a powerboat fan and racer, I have a small collection of perhaps a couple thousand, (the big time collectors have around 14 or 15 thousand), race, boat, etc, buttons, pins and tacks. I started trying to update my checklist. So there's that... No matter what, at least I will be warm and dry, as the predictions say that after this snow ends tomorrow night, we will once again tumble to well below zero outside.

Train show action! (y) It seems the laundry paradigm is shifting. And not in a good way. :cautious: Ops session! Cool. @Pastor John, cogratz to son and his intended. :) "Bat clean-up"? (Me not know.) Covered hoppers comin' down the pike! (chortle) ;) Yep. Precision bridge building. ;) Outing with son. Mighty fine. :) Gotta' love scrap. :p @Mark St Clair, I can relate. The last 1/384 hopper sides were fiddly enough. More stuff to come though. @Tim Holmes, looks like some of us are "fiddling" indeed. (Did someone say "Laundry"?) Two thousand race items! I hope all are warm. This past week I did not get a good start on foliage. Instead, I made a paper footprint (one foot by three foot) of the next module (Union City, Tenn.) Along with this some track and building placement was studied. I will make graph paper footprints for these. I have a day trip tomorrow. So, modeling time will be reduced this weekend. Have a fun weekend! :D

Starting tonight hopefully continue my woes with getting the Atlas Remote turnouts working. Tried last night and failed at it. Was working with the 2x4 layout standing on it's side, which is still a pain. Time to test all this stuff on Top of the layout where it is more comfortable to try and trouble shoot it. I really have to be in the mood for this stuff, and I am not really. Oh well, I'll still at least try it. If it doesn't work, I am moving on to something else for now.

Already dreading the Spring time :)
