Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you are all getting some projects done and I for one am looking forward to seeing what we all have planned. Let's get started.

Saturday: It is pretty likely this will be the day Christmas takes over. The Domestic Goddess has plans to re-arrange the Livingroom and dining room and switch the two. She also wants to go pick out and bring home our tree. I doubt I will get much done in the railroad side of things as it already sounds like a busy day.

Sunday: No real plans this day either as she wants to go to her grandmothers and make Christmas candy. I may go with her and provide my professional services as a taste tester, or I may stay home. If I do the later, I will continue to clean and work on the current Galesburg City Job and start construction of version 2.0 by building the new legs. As said before, I rarely have any firm plans in place this time of year.

So how about you? What do you have planned this first weekend of December? Let us know and keep the images coming, they look great and inspire us all! We'll come back on Monday the 8th to see how we did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy, remember December 7th and as always...

    Never forget December 7th, 1941.
    High Greens!

Hope to glue the 1/2" foam panels to my hollow core door layout ...... and may try to do a little railfanning while the glue sets up. :)

Arrrg! Weekend already?! Mrs Moose will have Mr Moose helping decorate the house and shopping -- BUT, Moose hope to sneak off to decal more MoW cars and maybe get some more done on the trestle, hooves crossed!

Will pick up where I left off on the HO Ft. Scott Depot cutting out doors and windows is my first project. Second is my N scale sawmill changing the roof pitch on the second story, it's too steep right now. Third bring home the N scale Arkansas River Bridge module to repair the brown section that was damaged in storage.

Good morning from partly cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio!

I did not post last week what with visitors and trying to schedule my wife a trip to California to help out with the one year old grandchild who got pneumonia, so I am left batching it this week.

I managed to get my workbench moved and stuff installed as I had to finish the car I was making for our Club Christmas gift exchange, so here is the new workbench with most items now installed.

I am still in the process of moving stuff this weekend, but Friday will be filled with wrapping the gifts for the Club gift exchange, going to the recycling center, and then bowling this evening.

Saturday, will be a club visit to run some trains, and since it is close to the airport I will go and pickup my wife from the California trip and then our club Christmas party on the weekend.

Sunday, I hope to start work on a couple of new cars but I need to rearrange my car storage area as I just finished a new shelving section for storing unit trains of coal cars, covered hoppers etc.

I was completely absent last weekend. We had guests for Thanksgiving and the room where my computer is also serves as our guest room. I did get to show off the layout.

For this weekend I hope to start installing manual controls for some of the turnouts on the Carlin section of the layout. This will depend on the arrival of some K&S steel wire I ordered. Last week I had made a trip to the LHS where I have gotten it in the past but they had none. If the wire does not arrive I will work on replacing couplers on more of my Amtrak Superliner cars with MT1129's.

Have a great weekend everyone whatever you end up doing.

The phrase for the weekend is "stealth modeling". I will be decorating the house all weekend while the Mrs. does all the Christmas cooking and "egg nog" making. Conveniently, there is an attic storage room off of my work shop where all of the Christmas "schtuff" is packed away. So I will keep a train car, building, or whatever on the work bench. As I trundle up all weekend to get Christmas decorations, a decal may go on here, a roof detail there, coupler tune-up, and, well you get the picture. So, this weekend will be spent doing things like "OH! I have to run up and look for the garland" <wink, wink>

Going to be an interesting weekend. Moving to a different division of our company starting Monday doing basically the same type of work for now but will be on call less and none at all this weekend. That will give me some extra free time Saturday morning so hope to work on some scenery. Booked for helping finish up the house Christmas décor in the afternoon and then a Christmas party Saturday evening. Sunday will involve all the usual activities but it looks like more time will available to get back to scenery work on the layout.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!!!

Well, I already got a lot of backdrop cut and installed this morning, so I may work on benchwork the rest of the weekend.

Tomorrow is also my birthday, so the wife and kids may throw a wrench into my plans this weekend.

Anyhow, I’m already ahead of what I had planned. We’ll see what else happens![IMG]

Gonna be a busy weekend. Christmas shopping is near complete so I will be able to relax a bit.

Last night I installed a bridge on the club layout. I had this laying around the house for years and it wasn’t gonna do me much. Good so I donated it. Worked out great.

Saturday I will continue work on the yard lead I I started last week. Hope to have the rail soldered, cut, foam painted, track ballasted. I also have 7 blue point switches I want to get installed this weekend.

Sunday I will add a little scenery to the lift out yard lead area. Then finish the blue point installs. I then need to collect all the car kits needing built and get them ready to go.

Wife is getting better slowly. Still having some scary breathing episodes but thye are getting less.

Will be working on Christmas decorations around the house.

I hope to run some trains. I would like to place foundtions for the station platforms. Once they are in place I can think about ballasting. I also have a bunch cars I need to tune up.

Very impressed with above results. I hope all who need complete wellness receive it. I had some things to do earlier so am on here later. That gives me the chance to see a little more than usual on here. :D A new and better drive linkage was made and installed this week. The shake down time has been successful. I am still working on a boxcar. While making parts, I decided to make a few extra for the next project which did make a small delay in the current one. Saturday may be an outdoor day. However, I should get some more done on the boxcar. All be safe and well while you are gearing up for Christmas. (y)

Already started tonight ( Friday ), by adding a much needed spur, I always get terms mixed up in this hobby, that runs to the WS Transfer Kit loading dock to add some more possibilities, and hopefully cool scenery to it at some point. Planning on adding DCC wiring points to both spurs, and also finally drill the holes for the Remote Turn Outs ( just bought new switch machines ) wiring to drop down, and possibly install some WS Just Plug lighting on the layout and drop the wires to locations for wiring. My bases sit on folding table so need to figure out as much wiring as possible so I can take it off the folding table(s), and do as much wiring as possible, before returning to the folding table? Might try to locate the Momentary Rocker switches I bought for throwing the turn out's ( tested one last night and it works ), but still haven't figured it out yet. Might need to add a small panel, but not sure about that yet, or how to do such a thing? I'd rather it all be on my two bases really, so less stuff to contend with when moving, working on, or storing one of them.

Also like others, outside Christmas decorations might get in the way of some of my plans :)

Dag'gum'it! Moose completely forgot what is taking up most of Moose's hobby time the past several days and into this weekend: Moose is trying to design a homemade, collapsable-ish paint booth that can double as a soldering station (to whisk off those pesky soldering fumes away from moose muzzle!)...

Great use of hobby time that is directly related to model railroading, great addition to workshop.

Do you have photos? We would like to see your progress.

    @Joe Lovett

No photos or even sketches yet.

Currently reviewing others' designs to benchmark design, both DIY & manufactured (ex: Paasche, Pace). Also comparing fans/blowers & duct work (cost vs. CFM and effective FPM), considering materials (plywood vs. sheet metal, similar) vs. Moose's fabrication capabilities (read: nil capabilities!).

Moose really really wish Moose had kept fluid dynamics text books from college days to better design this contraption!
