Welcome back everyone, it is that time of the week we affectionately know as "The Gateway to the Weekend." Time to assemble and see what we have planned. Let's get started. Saturday: Well in a trend of late and unlike our friend Mark, Illinois has been unseasonably cold. In fact we got snow on Tuesday! Enough to cover the ground. So far we have only hit 70 degree's once this spring and unfortunately, the trend of cold north winds and rain is in the forecast for most if not all of the weekend. On this day however, myself and Steve will be setting up the entire NTrak modules we have rehabilitated the last few months to make sure we are ready for next weekend's event. I'm hopping everything is running in tip top condition so we make a good impression at our first showing next weekend. Sunday: I have had almost every weekend spent on work or the hobby so I've agreed to spend some time with Angela. We are celebrating her Dad's birthday by taking him out to dinner at one of his favorite restaurants. I was also planning on getting the Mustang out of winter storage but will wait until we have better weather, maybe by May! So how about you? What is your plan for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 26th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always... High Greens!
With a couple boxes arriving this week, I am FINALLY starting the last of the track work on the first section of the layout. I have laid out and started cutting in for an Atlas code 55 curved turnout to angle a couple of tracks off into the woods for my locomotive rebuilder. SO I'll do bits and bobs of that this weekend. then if I get really randy I'll continue making the pink foam plains less flat . . . . all the while avoiding cleaning my "heck a bomb went off" workbench top.
Bowling again tonight, last week had a 245-245-205 for a 695 series! Having a club meeting for the first time in months, we are limited to only 4 members at a time in the club room by the Historical Society so we had to wait for good weather to have one outside. I need to paint a 60's boxcar kit I built this past week, then decal it and a 50's boxcar kit I built and painted this week. Also cleanup the workbench for a large project that I need to finish. This weekend we hope to pull the netting off the pond. I still need to get a part for the filter before I can install it. On the modeling front I have the Cinder Conveyor to build, the water tower to weather, and the outside crane for the Engine House to paint and weather. I could also work on trying to get a satisfactory track plan for the engine facilities yard.
I will have another play it by ear kind of weekend. My wife will be going out to her nephew's daughter's birthday party tomorrow - so.... we'll see what strikes my fancy. Report on Monday Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
I plan to continue and perhaps finish the flat cars that I have been working on over the past few weeks. I also plan to start painting the batch of 3D printed military vehicles I recently got along with some more M/T Humvees. And what Phillip said about his work bench applies to me too. Everyone have a great weekend.
Happy Friday! Have a great weekend all! Plans this weekend are: More work on dirt road scene I started last weekend. More work on Highland Paint Co building which I haven’t touched in about 5 or 6 weeks. Time permitting, some rolling stock work.
Been having bouts of Spring Fever interrupted by chores. Rain coming. Will get something done. Had grass fed lamb earlier. Very surprised I am not asleep right now. So far just more drawing the plan. Have a great weekend!
Our run of warm weather is about to change. The normal cool, rainy Pacific Northwest Spring is returning this evening. I am away from the workbench so there will be no progress on the trains as such. However, with me on this trip is the still-in-development screwdriver stand. My plan for the weekend is to at least make progress and hopefully finish it. Bonus points if I start sketching out a knife holder before Monday. Stay safe,
