Are you superstitious? It's Friday the 13th! Contrary to popular belief, Friday the 13th has always been a "lucky" day for me and probably a good time for me to buy a lottery ticket.

So with a good day planned it is onto my list. I'll be starting my weekend with a trip to Menards, one of my favorite lumbar and do-it-yourself stores of the midwest. I'm off to get more material for more legs as well as another heater for my new, bigger storage unit. My goal this weekend is to get the other 18"X 4' module built as well as a special 18"X 18" corner module built and set up against my two walls. The end goal here is to of course replicate the small NH town of Potter Place on one module and a slightly compressed version of Concord NH on the other one. I want to get both modules plus the corner one up so I can properly set up track geometry between the two modules. The siding that starts in Potter Place will continue through the corner and into Concord. With the Christmas tree up now, I'll also be putting up the annual MTH O scale Christmas Train as well as trimming the tree and all the usual Christmas trappings.

So how about you? Where does Friday the 13th find you? Painting, street repair, DCC work, whatever you have scheduled on your work order, let us know. We'll all come back on Monday the 16th and see how we all did. Until then, have a happy, safe and productive weekend, don't worry too much on old superstitions and...

    High Greens!

The tannery is starting to look like something now. I've been off for a week, and I've spent a lot of time detailing the whole scene. Last night, I got the thin brick strips installed inside the parapets on the second of the 4 buildings - only 2 more to go. That one, called the "tan yard," is pretty much done now, so it's time to move on to the others. As cold as it is out, I've been doing limited spray painting in the garage.

It's about time to remove the liftout section that the tannery sits on and see how that goes. I've got an automotive trailer-hitch connector for the power, so I'll install that. Then, while the liftoff is removed, I've got to fasten down the track for the siding that serves the tannery, and start some scenery and greenery behind it. There's still a tall water tower to be built, too.

This is a roof before adding the thin brick strips:

And this one has the brick strips added:
