The temps grow hotter which may allow us to retreat inside and work on our miniature pikes, it's time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

Having Galesburg done for another year, I can now work on my layout some. The goal this weekend is to number 1 stay cool as temps here hover around 100. I'm moving most of the non railroad items into a storage unit that is closer than the one I'm using now, so that will take the better part of my Saturday. My posts about my N scale layout on Potter Place NH is getting some interest from fellow railroad enthusiast in New England. I received in the mail a copy of a slide taken from Potter Place around the 1940's. This picture was taken from a key point of my layout and really explains a lot of my research. Unfortunately, it means I have a lot to do by means of ripping up a good portion of the main line, siding and second siding. Oh well, I would rather get it right then not at all. Having finished the Iowa Interstate GP38-2, I found another project I never finished so I'll be doing a BNSF locomotive again, the first in at least seven years. May drag that out this weekend too. So besides moving and cleaning, organizing and track work, I'll probably update my blog and review Galesburg RR Days, now that all my pictures have been uploaded.

So how about you? Do you need to escape the heat? Maybe spending time in the work shop scratch building a new structure or detailing some rolling stock. How about some track work? DCC work? Whatever your plans are, let us know what you are up to and where you want to be. Feel free to post pictures of your projects and plans. We'll come back on Monday Morning when it will be July, and see how we all did. Until then, proceed on track one to modeling and...

Yup, I'll need to escape the heat. 90s are predicted for New England, so I'll power up the AC, put the Tour de France on the tube and do some modeling. I should be able to get the last of that street-running track down and hopefully put the cobbles around it, too. Then I can get back to the other surrounding structures.

Going up to the Catskils tomorrow. So no modeling this weekend. I may get in some train watching on the trip up along CSX's West shore line near Kingston NY.

I'll be working until 4 AM sat morning, sitting in the hotel working on kits and weathering cars until contractor goes back to work setting girders in Sunday evening. Home is 3.5 hours away, the wife is going out of town and I can keep my hotel room all weekend, so I'm staying put and raking in the extra $$$.

    Fun Fun!
