The days are getting longer and so is the list of things to get done on our model pikes, time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

I'm not planning on getting too much done model wise. I'm fortunate to have today off (Good Friday) but I will be busy working on adding new bumpers and equipment to Jess the Railfan Jeep as well as cleaning up my place in anticipation of my parents arrival for Easter. One modeling activity I do have however, is to travel down to Maywood station here in NJ and get some pictures and data. I plan to build a small T-Trak module based on this area. A visit to Steamtown may also be on the agenda.

So how about you? For many of us, this is a holiday weekend. Many may be busy with Sunrise services, Easter services and family gatherings. How many have Good Friday off? Will you get any modeling done this weekend? If so, what are the plans? Leave your answer below telling us your modeling plans. We'll all get together on Monday the 9th and see how we did.

    Happy Easter!

This will not be much of a modeling weekend here, either. Passover starting this evening (10 people for seder tonight), and then planning on starting to paint the family room tomorrow. At most, I might be able to get a bit of test work done on pouring the "water" for my lake and river. I'll need to take some scrap foam, plaster cloth it, and prepare it how I plan for the real layout. Have a couple ideas I want to try before committing, about embedding some aquarium rocks along the bottom, and want to see how it works, first.

With the holiday this weekend, I don't plan on getting any work done on my layout. If I do get to do any work, it will be to replace the foam roadbed with cork roadbed.

    Happy Easter everyone!

I've been going down to the museum in Yorktown Heights NY for a couple of months now. Usually about 3 hours a week. The wiring on their layout was a real mess and there were no diagrams for it. Yesterday I got to the point that all the wiring is somewhat neat and identified with tags and I was able to have the layout running on the new Buss that I ran over the past few weeks. Tomorrow while i'm there I will rewire the switch controls and tag the wires and finish documenting the wiring for easy troubleshooting.

In between yardwork and church activities, I'm going to try to do some assembly on a cider mill (from an old E.L. Moore article) that I built with CAD software and the rapid prototype machine at school.

No project plans, but Marc (3DTrains) and I will attend the freemo breakfast and then off to do some real time research along the Beaumont grade right of way. We are working up a trackplan to replace my current layout that will run from West Colton to the Beaumont grade summit (Apex).

SInce I have the weekend off, and the weather has been decent, it looks like another yardwork session- fire up the mower & weed-eater (unless, of course, my son does what he did last week & volunteers to do it for me).

With luck, however, since I have enough benchwork up, I plan on turning the first spadeful of pink foam & turning loose the construction crews, layoing roadbed & track. Don't want to lose the Campbell Soup business to those dang trucks now, do I? ;)
