We are coming up to the very final days of the 2017. Hard to believe huh? I swear that each passing year goes faster and faster. Better see what we can do on this final weekend of 2017.

Saturday: Not much planned although the misses was saying something about my favorite hardware store. Seams she has been busy working on a "honey do" list that is "This Old House" themed. With that and a few other domestic duties, I hope to turn attention to my track planning on the City Job.

Sunday: We have one last Christmas celebration in the family. My step daughter and her boyfriend were gone for Christmas so arrangements were made to celebrate this coming weekend. As far as I can tell, that is the only big thing going on this weekend. I really want to relax a bit as last weekend was busy.

Monday: New Years Day! We'll likely ring in the New Year by taking down all the Christmas decorations and generally cleaning up. I probably will not get much more done than planning on the new year of train activities. My only New Years Resolution is to get as much done on the Galesburg City Job as I can. The new lightweight modules coupled with a new fuel efficient transport means I have better opportunities to display my half of the City Job locally, and Maybe allow me to pursue some shows out east with my co-modeler, Bill. We'll see.

So how about you? What do you hope to accomplish this weekend. More importantly, what is your New Years Model Railroading Resolution? Tell us below. We'll assemble again on Tuesday the 2nd day of the new year to see what we got done and what we want to get done in the new year. Until then, have a great last weekend of 2017, party safe and...

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am hoping to continue the paint process on my what if/should have been project. Let's hope the first coat doesn't lift after masking & painting. True color has a nasty reputation for that. This is my first attempt with this brand. I rarely had a problem with good 'ol Floquil. Other then that, I would like to get some stuff done up my layout. Perhaps, I will start on the engine terminal fence --- yeah -- I am procrastination on it. It's about 3-1/2 (actual) feet worth.

Hope Y'all have a great and very safe weekend!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Trees....I need lots and lots of trees.

For New Years resolutions I want to get a lot done on my layout this year. Didn’t get a lot done last year.

    Happy holidays everyone!

Trying to finish up construction of the benchwork for my new layout by new year's eve. At least for the main part excluding staging.

    Happy new year to everyone.

Never make it as far as I think I can in a weekend-even extended.
I find creating scenery in N Scale is so much harder then the HO for example and of course lacking variety available for smaller scales requires on to make do...anyhow since Lumber Mill is basically complete I'm now focused on the Passenger station nearby...2 quick photos show start at layout beginning and up to todays accomplishment...much more to go with the station and surrounding detail.

Seems there was also an unfortunate rockslide during the progress
