Good morning, good evening, where ever you may be. It's time for a special extended Memorial Day Weekend Modeling plans.

Saturday: I've been working on some new switchlists for the Galesburg City Job in it's 1977 mode. I've changed some things up in an attempt to make operations more realistic. With any luck, I'll be doing some more work on that Saturday.

Sunday: Depending on the weather, I maybe doing some organization and some planning on the new version of the GCJ.

Memorial Day: With the holiday here and the "Unofficial start to summer", I'll be spending time with family, having a cook out or two and probably riding with friends.

With that said, I wish you all a Happy Memorial Day. Please remember, the reason for the holiday and that it is not just for deep discounts on furniture and automobiles. Remember the fallen and those who served to grant us the freedoms we enjoy. We'll gather around again on Tuesday the 28th to see how our weekend went. Until then, have a great long weekend, stay safe and...

    HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Have a great cook out Jim. Hope your weather is great for it. We'll be doing ours Saturday with some family coming for dinner. I'm "cheating" and doing slow cooked ribs on the smoker. That way, I can go up to the train room and do some things in half-hour chunks while ribs are slow cooking.

This weekend, plan on some scenery work as well as more work in developing CAD drawings for the signaling plan and the first 2 control panels.

Nothing special here. Supposed to be rainy and cool outdoors. Probably just more fiddling with my HOn30 critter project. May get it to paint stage, finally.

Rainy and cool, yes that's the kind of weather we have had lately and that's unusual for our area at this time of year.

My wife and I are planning on some BBQ one day this weekend and the day will depend on the weather. Also I need to get out and get the cover off our travel trailer and start getting it ready for a trip we are planning next month.

In between those things there is still lots of yard work to catch up on after getting a late start because of traveling in March / April. I have started rebuilding an old module that was given to me and am currently working on a new set of legs for it and that will continue off and on over the weekend.

    My plans for the weekend...

Finish the PCB for DCC++ESP32, initial test "print" via oshpark drag-n-drop yielded:

Which needs a bit more work (missed a few components and small tweaks to a few others). My goal is get a PCB ready for a test run and get components ordered next week so I'll have everything in hand by mid-June so I can start testing the PCB and prepare kits for people who want them.

No plans here. Just sitting in my chair and maybe watching a few train videos. My son is out doing flag placement with his boy scout troop this morning. First time I have missed it in years.

Almost forgot about this thread. It’s crunch time. 1 week until I get visitors from the NMRA to judge my work. I’m spending the weekend finishing up the write ups for the paperwork, small details here and there. A couple of structures I need to tweak a little to make them pop. Then I will fire up the layout. I have four locos needing programming. One will have to be done with the pr3 and a computer. I pulled out my double stack train for this event. Just needed an excuse to pull everything out of their boxes.

Maybe if I have time I will finish the car show project before next Saturday.

That is not cheating, that is Smart!!! How I miss my smoker, the way God intended it. I'm reduced to a gas grill now :-(
