We are back. Did you have a great weekend?

Saturday: my snowmobile season came to an end. About 26 miles into a 300 mile round trip, we noticed my track had a huge piece missing from it. That is really bad for you non-snowmobile enthusiasts. So we nursed my machine back to my place and placed her back in the garage. It will be 60 here on Friday so it was a great run. I’ll fix the machine this summer in anticipation for next winter. I then spent the rest of the day working on the City Job.

Sunday: was a relaxing day although I did put in a few hours for my part time job as I will be out of the area this week.

So how about you? What did you accomplish? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Friday the 15th to start the weekend all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Over the last 40 days, I've been visited by at least 3 bats.

Sunday night, the dog seemed a tad agitated. She was in my modeling room and distracted. When I called, she came, but I notice her looking back into the room. You guessed it. BAT.

Since it was late, I closed the door and as of Monday morn, have yet to revisit until I come up with a decent strategy (that won't damage models in the room) to remove (karma has it in for me as the double hung window separated at the miter meaning if I try to open it without repair, the entire pane could fall out!!). A big sheet and gloves?

Trying to think of ways to thin down a pile of boxes, which stands between me and my paint booth. Stuff in the boxes is very collectible RR paperwork. But trying to sell it as should be done, is a pain. So, the pile has not moved. My paint project has not moved. Argh!!!

My time at my workbench was minimal. Our guest went back home, this past Saturday.

    So...
Saturday: I worked on my layout's right side yard ladder - a little tune up. (That's it)

Sunday: In the morning, I went to my friends house for an opps session on his NYO&W layout -- had a blast.
After getting home, I worked a bit on my Rock Island project. Made some progress. (Getting closer to the photo reveal).

Hope Y'all had a great weekend,
    Wolf

Late train made it songs couldn’t hit the train show. Next show will be the NMRA show in July. It’s gonna be held in Salt Lake City this year so I am making it a point to visit it. I already have the time off work. Now it’s time to hit the layout again. Some items are on order and I am waiting for them to arrive from Walthers but while I wait I have a mother area I can work on.

I am curious about this layout! Any chance of some photos and other, (scale, track plan), info? Might be worthy of a new topic?

    Hey Boxcab,

Sorry -- no photos. I tried to upload the track plan (More like a schematic) - it wouldn't let me. It is however an "E" shaped layout in his garage.
I'll see what I can do about getting some photos. Oh -- it's N Scale.

Train activity this weekend consisted of sampling New York's many subway lines while visiting my oldest who lives in the Marine Park Neighborhood of Brooklyn, NYC. She works in a bakery in Red Hook (where I discovered an excellent craft distillery) so that chewed up a morning, then the rest of the weekend was knocking around Manhattan. I think I rode trains in 9 different lines over two days. Time well spent.

Finished building and painting a Tichy kit of a pair of HO wood ore cars. They cute little buggers, and have a *lot* of very small parts - even the trucks needed assembly!

The miraculous part? I managed to finish the whole thing without losing a single part (or crawling under the table looking for one)! :)

Busy day at the fuel dealership. Deliveries all over the place. Farmers co-op finally found a home, crossing is complete protecting 4 tracks and the ground is looking covered. Still needs trees. I will be adding figures once I get the car show area complete. Lots of figures to go all over.

Well, I've been talking about moving for a long while. I ended up quitting my job of 15 years on Friday and I'm going on a job search. I'm probably going to move out to the Central Valley. There are far move trucking jobs there and it's a lot cheaper to live out there than where I live now. I can afford a nicer, larger place than I can here, so I'm hoping work on the model railroad will start up again. I'm not a big fan of change, but this is something I needed to do to save my sanity.
