From the heart of Galesburg Illinois, it’s time for Weekend Modeling Plans! For me, this one weekend of the year is like Christmas, the 4th of July and a family reunion all wrapped up in a neat orange and black wrapper. Or Cascade green and black wrapper. Galesburg RR Days is here. Today is set up so Bill and I will be setting up the Galesburg City Job in its entirety this afternoon. I somehow managed to rip a critical piece of track out of the second module Wednesday night that of course is the curve. I have a feeling that most of my time will be spent fixing that today. We’ll finish set up and head over to our favorite taco place for dinner before some impromptu Railfanning. Saturday: The first day of the actual show will be 1967. CB&Q and Santa Fe engines will be switching cars for the many industries and Bill and I will be catching up with each other as well as our friends. Sunday: Is always bitter sweet, we are running trains but soon have to take them down. In honor of Railroad Days, we will again run 1977, the year of the first Galesburg RR Days. CB&Q black and red will be replaced with Cascade Green and now BN and Santa Fe will be working to switch out some cars. Hey, wouldn’t it be something if those two lines merged? Nah, it will never happen! Before we know it, it will be time to take everything down, say our goodbyes and start looking towards Monday. Of course during the off hours of the show, there will be plenty of railroad themed fun. So how about you? What is on your agenda this weekend? Will you be at the Galesburg RR Days festival? Stop by and say hi! We’ll assemble again to talk about what we got done and what we did on Monday the 25th. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always... High Greens!
I will be starting up my tree manufacturing plant once again. I picked up 200 bamboo skewers the other day and today I will paint them up.
Saturday: I have been invited to join in on an operating session. I am looking forward to this new experience -- details to follow. Sunday: Back to work on my Lark. -- Perhaps other projects will get some attention. Hope Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
Plan on cleaning up some scenery I've started the last couple of weeks. More Tortoise installations, and working on programming track that will be in the workshop.
I hope to install a sound decoder and give a sound car as a birthday gift to a friend. N scale of course.
