Zinc rot! I think they will honor their warranty (for rot) and will replace it for you.

 

I believe they will based on past dealings with them, they are a pretty good with standing behind their products.

 

And I was right, just got an email from them and they are sending me replacement parts. They even said I did not have to return the locomotive at all, just toss the frame parts away...... A++ support as always!
