The Middletown & Hummelstown RR is the proud owner of this ex-EJ&E caboose. My favorite place to ride on the annual Ride the Rails for Cancer excursions.

    EJ&E 546 at Barrington IL, about 1976. The caboose in @Sepp K's picture above was EJ&E 510.

Oh WOW. Talk about a memory rush. I was on the crew that put the roofs on this order. (Which included the two MILW cabooses.) I remember seeing them set out by the plant switch crews, waiting for the BN to pick them up. Was it really fifty years ago? Argh.... It's all gone now. Fancy apartments, condos, odd specialty stores surround the old site. Just a small Kenworth presence. All that "upscale" urban bleh, where there once was an industrial area, a few old bars, etc.

White-lined NW 557584 Caboose at Emory Gap, TN in March 1990. It was donated to the town of Spring City, TN. The caboose is former NKP 484, built in 1962.

That's a nice photo! Nicely framed, pleasant scenery, interesting trackage, and a train! (y)
