Leave for a week and you can't find anything. Time for me to go back to work so I can get some sleep. Kansas sure doesn't look as nice as Washington this time of year. It was also a lot colder, even got snowed on.
Best colors for what? Frisco had the best colors - black and yellow and mandarin and white. C'mon guys - everyone knows that! Charlie
NEGATORY GOOD BUDDY! Blah blah blah bla blah blah Frisco blah blah blah...FRISCO FRISCO FRISCO! Come on now, you KNOW the Santa Fe RULED Kansas! Ok, the Q was a Co-Ruler.
Sure looks like the black dirt of home to me, I had pockets, hair and ears full of it growing up! The Frisco was the King of the rails for years around there! You foreigners! Man I wish I had either one of two houses we lived in back there, they had big full sized basements! That is a lot of years and good memories. In the back ground you can see one of the big flour mills, so that is north east Wichita out close to Arkansas Street where the Interurban Lines run north to Newton, Ks. My Uncle Lawrence Swiggart lived not far from one of those mills, and we could sit in his back yard and watch the trains, could be the lines in the photo. Talk about getting homesick!! Thanks for the photo Mark and Charlie!! [ 31 March 2001: Message edited by: watash ]
