Coming back to model railroading after a 28-year break, and it's just as enjoyable as it ever was! I was a N-scaler before and really enjoyed the challenges and the ever improving equipment of the late 80`s / early 90`s - but the scale is a bit hard on my seasoned eyes and I am not nearly as space limited as I was then, so HO it is. I stayed with modeling thru the years, mostly 1/48 aircraft, but have dabbled in ships as well. Those skills translated seamlessly into model railroading - I am having a blast! Modeling the T&P, west Texas 1950. Things are good in my alternate history world, the T&P got a correct decision out of the courts, the SP was made to surrender the poached ROW and abandon the improvements they had made. By 1950 T&P is fulfilling her original purpose as a southern transcon. I have stayed true to the ORER of July 1950, so not a total freelance just yet, although we do now own the old Orient RR and are making good use of that road, although old Mexico is a challenging place to railroad in this era....... Running NCE, Tsunami and Loksound for the loco "brains". Looking forward to learning from this group, lurked for a while and this is a great group! Bill
Hi Bill, Welcome, happy to have you on board. Sounds like you have a great concept. Looking forward to hearing/seeing what you create. We enjoy watching layouts grow from a space on the floor to a full blown empire, regardless how long it takes.
