...two engines already passed the crossing then the truckdriver hit the third one (the truck and the truckdriver are burried somewhere in this mess...) Lismore, Victoria, Australia Editted to reflect which Lismore.
Definitely would have been an ugly incident. As this isn't an N scale topic, am going to move it to our catch-all railroading forum- The Ready Track. Boxcab E50
I guess a Breathalizer Test for the truck driver is out of the question....? Sorry, just Gallows Humor..but gimme a break!
I have seen images of the trucks bullbar inbedded at the rear of the second locomotive, a 3rd locomotive NR33 has been totally demolished.
How the heck could that have happened - looks like there would have been a clear view of the train for the truck driver! fell asleep, maybe?
ouch... *nuff said* hopefully the crew was on the first unit, it stayed upright, there are small miracles
Grain? Is the yellow stuff on the ground grain? Was the grain in the truck? I didn't know they carried grain in containers? I know a fireman who picked up after an Amtrak hit a truck loaded with kitty litter. He said there was kitty litter everywhere!
Looks like a looters paradise mg: I bet the police have had to guard whatever has spilled from the containers pretty well.
Unofrtunately this occurred in the morning during early fog on an unmarked crossing. The spillage is orange pulp which may have been from the truck or one of the containers, they are still trying to recover the body of the truck driver. Thankfully the truck his the second locomotive and not the first so the two drivers were uninjured.
