I model the transition era, late summer of 1957 to be exact and I have been collect vehicles for this time period for around 30 years. I try to get as accurate a vehicle as I can as some of the offerings look more like blobs with what resembles wheels.

Years ago, Alloy Forms came out with their cast metal vehicles. Probably have at least one of each that fits my time period. In recent years Classic Metal Works have come out with some excellent offerings with great detail. Got quite a few of them. Athearn also brought out a few. I guess I may be going overboard with my collection, but I keep looking all of the time and came across these two which happened to be on sale. At $15 each, they were a little pricey, but I thought I would give them a shot.

The first is a 1957 Chrysler Imperial. The details blew me away. There are even etched windshield wipers and a radio antenna. The next one is a 1949 Cadillac sedanette. Again excellent sharp details. Along with itsey bitsey windsbield wipers, the chrome strips on the rear window also seem to be etchings.

I normally don't spend this much on vehicles, always trying to find them on sale, but with the detail that these offer, I am very happy with them.

Got them from a site that offers vehicles in many scales, and I get periodical emails with their sale offerings.

Ooo. Those are nice! The second one reminds me of one owned by my dad's boss, when I was a small boy.

Good looking cars there Chet. Really like the 49 Caddy. Classic Metal Works does a excellent job on the cars they make. I remember the real 49 Caddy's from when I was a kid. Dad had a 1951 Sedan de Ville
until 1961 when he traded it in on a Chevrolet Biscayne. Big drop[ from a top of the line Cadillac to a bottom of the line Chevy.
