Went to west Tulsa this morning, took photos of Frisco 4-8-4 Northern 4500 and other railcars on display.

When I visited that place there were folks all over the place. I really needed a "people filter" for my camera. ;)

I was the only person there on a Thursday morning about 11:00am. The other times there were several people.

    Thank you guys.

What are the rings for by the tanker car wheels?

Those are light "tubes" outlining the wheels for lighting up the train at night. The locomotive and cars used to be outlined in lights as well but they look like they have been removed. Looks nice at night but is kind of tacky and distracting during the day.

Hopefully they also act as a slight protection from low life scum.....

I was there in December three years ago so maybe they only put up all the lights for the holidays.

What is the rectangular box above the smokebox door?

It's a cover for the bell to keep it from being stolen.

Yup, bells and whistles are sought after by thieves. There is a story I recall from somewhere where they prevented someone from trying to remove a whistle from a live, under steam, locomotive at a tourist railroad. They should have left him alone and let Darwin take care of the idiot. The whistle could then be recovered and reinstalled after they cleaned his remains off of it.
