Hey! I'm Joseph. I have a small switching layout that I've been working on, the 3rd since entering the hobby. I rent, so this layout is designed in 3 parts, portable, easy to disassemble, and based on the Southern Pacific Burbank Branch, a rail line that served the San Fernando Valley for over a century. I grew up in the area and remember running out to see the trains roll by. I have uploaded pictures to the gallery and I'll continue to add more. Meanwhile, please visit my youtube channel for great videos! https://www.youtube.com/c/JosephLeal https://www.flickr.com/photos/apartmentmodelrailroader Thanks, I look forward to comments and questions!
Good morning and welcome to Trainboard, Joseph! I was born in Burbank and lived along the Burbank branch on Chandler Blvd until I was out of high school. Like you, I would run out and watch the train go westbound in the mornings, and then eastbound in the late afternoons; especially on weekends when the consist was pulled by the old steam locos. Show us some photos of your portable pike in the HO forum! Again ... welcome aboard.
That's some pretty good stuff, Joseph! Nice job on the editing on your videos too - looks very professional! Best of luck and welcome!
Welcome aboard. Kind of neat to look through your Flickr and see the mock-ups for future construction.
Welcome aboard, Joseph. As a Lockheed retiree I spent some time in those now gone buildings in Burbank.
Welcome Joseph, wow what a small world Chris and Bill... I was born in North Hollywood and lived first 16 years in Burbank [to 1971] (Rose Street off of Burbank Blvd.) My dad worked at Lockheed, JPL and IBM as an electrical engineer. He moved us up to Bay Area after job change to Memorex long ago of course. Fantastic youtube presentation along with Flickr pics!
Thanks Rick! I also started a thread on the layout and added some pictures and videos, have a look here: Burbank Branch Layout Thread Thanks for the welcome!
