Years ago I enjoyed an N scale layout that my Dad built. I was always interested in Z, which was so rare to see anywhere. I love the possibilities of the Z-bend modular standard. I'm a bit disappointed that I can't find any clubs in Colorado that embrace the Z-bend standard, but I expect to eventually work toward a modular layout anyway. Just maybe there will be others. Right now I'm designing a T gauge (1:450) layout (not modular, but certainly portable). I love how much scenery I can fit into such small dimensions.
Hi Marmot, welcome, glad to have you on board. I can't imagine a T layout, being half the size of Z. However, I'd love to see photos of what you create.
Welcome aboard! T gauge does seem to have some interest, not sure how much altogether but as long as you're enjoying it, you must be doing it right. BTW, where in CO?
I'm passing familiar with Thornton, having been down around the Springs for close to 2 decades now. Good to place you!
Welcome. BTW you have to know Z scale is a lonesome hobby... In most areas you won't find any club nor even a LHS that carries Z scale... Dom, who definitly relies on the web when one speaks of Z-scale
I figure there aren't a lot of people in Z. But I guess I'm an optimist when I see some amazing videos on the web with significant collections of modular Z layouts at train shows along the west coast. I'm fine with using the web for all sorts of things that I can't find locally. I've been doing that for years with other hobbies.
Be sure to check in over on the Z forum! And there is also a thread there on starting a T-Gauge forum. Please post your support. And welcome to Trainboard!
Thanks, yeah, I've already posted on the thread about "Interested in a T forum" on the Z scale forum. I'm really hoping it'll happen.
