As I am sure many of you have noticed, the new Kato heritage locomotives look great but come without cab shades. I am wanting to add this detail and am wondering if anyone has come up with paint that matches the existing model color? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I guess I should add that I am particularly looking for paint matches for the Katy, WP, MP, and DRGW. I heard somewhere that CSX gray was a good match for the DRGW.
Anyone have any info on this? I would like to attempt to match some paint on the Kato Heritage units as well.
I usually end up mixing Modelflex paint with other colors to get a close match for whatever project I'm working on. I haven't done it in awhile, so can't give specifics. Never found a paint that matched perfectly with any of the manufacturers. Sometimes that can be good because I've seen the prototype with off color shades, too. Brian
