Only ES44ACs, ES44DCs and SD70ACes have been delivered in black/orange with swoosh logo, correct? My real question: How many engines have been repainted into H3?
Hopefully Hemi will chime in and post, he got a picture of SD40-2 in the new Orange and Black. I plan on painting one up in N scale here soon. So far BNSF has also done up some goats, but other than that, I have not seen much new paint on anything other than ES44's and SD70 ACe's.
I thought I saw a pic of a GP50 with a swoosh somewhere but now I can not seem to find it, I thought it looked really good on a GP. Kevin
Only H3 paint jobs I've seen on the Transcon so far have been on the new ES44DCs from GE. The Swoosh logo, however, is showing up more & more on rolling stock, such as stack cars, gons, and lots of ACF covered hoppers such as the ones I've seen on the "brown worm" train thru Gallup. Haven't seen BNSF,s new "Big Aces" here yet, but then again the coal traffic is up north in Wyoming- not that much down here.
I know that there are also SD40-2's, and a Dash 8-40CW #882. I've also seen am MP15DC #3702. Is this the GP50 you were looking for?(This isn't my picture) (That guy must really not like the new logo)
There have been several SD40's repainted that I have seen in Vancouver WA. The most recent that I recall was the BNSF 6820.
I just saw an ex-AT&SF GP60M in fresh H3 paint setting at Ceeco in Tacoma, WA about an hour ago. Long live the red & silver.
Check over at locophotos.com There are a lot of pics of the new logo. A GP-60M is on the front page. There are a number of different repaints SD40-2's some remotes or slugs dont quote me as its been a long week. Stteve
Steve, a big Thanks! I have to paint one up in two rail scale O for a Floquil project. Thanks again, did you take the picture?
O.K. I always have the really easy questions (notice I didn't say dumb question) can I see a H2 and a H3 side by side {or train board posting top over bottom} I am not sure which one is which. I know I have seen them just not sure which one is H2
The H2 and H3 or Bold as BNSF Railway calls it look similar. H2: Is overall Heritage Orange with wide yellow and black bands that act as the separation between the orange and green. Side logo is BNSF in yellow lettering in the Baskerville Font. Nose herald is the cigar band sans SF. H3: Is overall Heritage Orange with wide yellow and black bands that act as the separation between the orange and black. Black has now replaced the Brunswick Green. Side logo is BNSF stylized action font with the "power bar", "Nike Swoosh" or "swoosh" in black with yellow outlined. Nose herald is the same as the sides only smaller. The Brunswick Green BNSF used since 1996 was darker than the Brunswick Green used on the BN SD70's of the 1990's. As a result, many of the H1 and H2 greens can be mistaken for black. The big give away is the new logo. Contrary to railfan belief, the new logo was never used on a orange and green locomotive. Hope that helps.
:embarassed: Thanks now how about 3-photos to look at to burn in the image. It helps me to remember what I read.:embarassed: Mr. Train (it's only a screen name):shade:
Wife a fommer?? Lucky you Hemi. That is the collection I am working on I have the BN green and SF yellow but I can't seem to make up my mind which BNSF I want to add to the collection.
