Hi, guys! I am pretty new to DCC. I have had success with retrofitting and programming decoders to some of my older locos, but I have not had any experience with Soundtraxx decoders. My new Bachmann N-scale GG-1 came with something called a "Soundtraxx Sound Value" decoder built in. I have read the Soundtraxx custom programs the Sound Value line with CV capabilities for different manufacturers. It appears that a good number of the functions listed in Soundtraxx documentation are not available on the specific decoder installed in the GG-1. My problem is this: I would like to map the grade crossing function to an unused function key, but I am not really understanding the directions from Soundtraxx's documentation. I am not sure if I am just obtuse, or if the grade crossing function is not available in this particular decoder. It IS mentioned in the Soundtraxx documentation, but... Incidentally, the GG-1 makes a little jerk forward when you successfully program most CVs, which is nice; but again, this is inconsistent. Has anyone successfully enabled the grade crossing effect in the Bachmann GG-1? What steps did you take? Any help would be appreciated. Stay safe! Mark
This may help..... https://soundtraxx.com/content/Reference/Factory-Installed/Bachmann/SoundValue/ho_gg1_sv.pdf There should be a way to get the grade crossing sound using a speed increase followed by a speed decrease . But if you are planning to run a lot of sound equipped locos I highly recommend installing the JMRI decoder pro to your computer ......Mike
