    Hey Fellas,
I am new to the board, but I love railroading. I grew up in Durango, CO around the Durango/Silverton and the Cumbres/Toltec while it was still under the Denver Rio Grande before it went private.

The reason that I am posting is that I need your help. I inherited a brass bell with the Frisco logo on it. It stands in an yoke that appears to be a boiler mount and is approximately 24 inches tall. It is my understanding that it came out of Cincinnati, Ohio and was given to my wife's uncle by a prominate business man named Dan Heekin either in the late fifties or early sixties. I am now in proud possesion of the bell and I am trying to learn all that I can about it. I would love to know what locomotive it came off of but I don't know if I can get that far with my research and information.

The bell has casting numbers on all of the yoke pieces but I was told that that is all they are are casting numbers. Is there any way to tell by the yoke or bell what period or type of locomotive it came off of. I am grabbing at suggestions and figured I would pick your brains and see what I could come up with.

    Thanks in advance,
    Heydaykid

Having numbers on the bell, that will give a decent chance of tracing it. Just need to find the right person, with some old paperwork.
