i have 9 GMD1's running around the layout and all run great, But I did take the time to break them all in couple hours each direction at different speeds. then clean the wheels with alcohol on a paper towel..Jim
I can vouch for the Atlas S2 switching locos; they run and look great, but I have not tried to run them over my double crossover. The Kato double crossover is power-routing, but not all the way end to end (i.e. the 4 individual switches are each power-routing). The inner rails are each isolated from the opposite end by a row of plastic-filled gaps across the middle, but the two outermost rails are continuous end to end. Are all four switches on the double crossover set the same when the SD40-2 sails through it, as when the BLI halts on it?
uh oh !! BLI problems again .... my my my.... SMH! I am one of those guys that had stalling issues lol What worked for me was this. Clean the whole truck assembly. I mean disassemble the plastic surrounding the truck. Clean the end of each wheel where the point goes into the thin pick up "wiper". It's the middle point of contact between the wheel of the truck and the copper strip that rides (or floats) above it. Clean the wiper and clean each tiny hole the end of the wheel goes into. (alcohol works good since your going to lubricate it after) Then lubricate with super thin/conductive oil (small amount). I use HOb-e Lube. I had my BLI units running like gold after this. Granted I had to send them back a few times due to a decoder issue and broken gear issue. They are really nice looking models and though bittersweet. I'm happy. Check the above mentions though with your track just to confirm its the loco but I have a good feeling that's what it is. Oh also clean track lol Cheers man good luck !
