I'm jlr1948.... Guess when I was born... 70 years ago. My wife and I moved in May from Albuquerque, NM to Oak Ridge, TN. We had been in NM for a few years to be close to kids, but missed the green grass and forests here in the east. My two grandfathers worked for the L&N in Kentucky, and I recall traveling on trains when a child. In our new home, I plan on building an N-scale layout, and have plans running in my head for a 10' by 10' room. I watch several live webcams from various locations everyday. Anyway, anything more is going to be boring so I'll leave.
Hey JLR, Welcome aboard. My first experience with the L&N was arriving Biloxi, MS in May 1956 because Uncle Sam felt I best served him as an "expert" in radar. Ended up teaching other folks all about radar. Love the MS Coast, lived here ever since. Sadly, never the rode the L&N after that. Tho built many N-Scale layouts. Happy to have you join us.
