Newbie here. Howdy ya'll. Planning a N scale table top layout. Dimensions around 32" x 58". Looking at " Cheap and Nothing Wasted II" as a possibility. Not planning much elevation change. Thinking of making it look like Western plains. Thoughts on appropriate passenger and freight lines to employ? Thinking mostly flat plains kind of scenery. Maybe a couple of buttes or mesas. Scrubland. Desert colors. Old abandoned buildings and a couple industries possibly. Also, with the proposed layout, I think maybe a redesign of the inside sidings. The current design seems a little useless. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. All input is considered important by me!

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

"Thoughts on appropriate passenger and freight lines to employ?" Era? You'll probably be looking at such as SP or AT&SF. Although RI, MP did reach out there as well. A branch line or higher traffic main track scenario?

Why not hop over to our Layout design forum and start a topic there? We have some very experienced folks who might have ideas for you.

Welcome aboard. I have to say when you laid out what you were looking for, Santa Fe jumped right to mind for me, although others are also good choices.
