Yup... Heart....lungs....weight...diabetes...arthritis...back....feet...all of it ! Doc says take a few days 'rest' and returned me to: Activity level...as tolerated, unrestricted Diet...Low fat, low salt, low colestestrol. Stop smoking. Sooooooooooo...I took it easy today. Sitting out in that nice comfy RV seat...watching trans running all day. Hard job...but someone has to do it !!
thoughts and prayers with you may healing come and in the time it takes may comfort and strength be yours take it easy! take good care of you! Gary L Lake Dillensnyder, OSL+
Glad to hear you are doing better. As someone mentioned, getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative! May the Good Lord allow you to run your trains for many many more years!
Haven't been on the 'puter in a while, so you keep it up and do play with them trains! It IS great therapy! And somehow i italicized this.... puters need BIG hammers! Like the ones used to fix steam engine running gear! Anyway, may the Good Lord keep you, and the good wife, too!
Thnxs all for the thoughts etc. I am feeling better, I am taking it easy and promised THE Wife I wont overdo it. Running trains...reading TB...and watching old movies...beats the alternative. Once again thank you all
Closing in on age 56, the men on my Mom's side of the family all had heart trouble (fatal, it turns out), but so far I'm good. The knees creak a bit, I'm heavier than I should be, my gut works as a resting place for my cat......but other wise still here. I do take blood pressure meds for my hypertension, and I NEED to lay off the fried stuff (I live in the middle of the Chicken Fried Kingdom). Sucks to get to middle age, but the alternative will come all too soon. Get well, George......and contrary to opinion, once in a while them docs do make sense (take it from one who has had to work with them for 32 years, seeing both good ones and those whom I wouldn't let put a Band-Aid on a cut).
O.k. here is my story..... Went to my regular doctor for chest pains when I was 45 yrs old. He asked a few questions did an EKG and said to go to a Cardiologist. So I went and saw a Cardiologist, did a stress test, (boy, that wasn't fun!) and he said that sometimes you can pass a stress test and still have problems. So I had a catheter exam with the X-ray and catheter stuck up my leg, everything looked great no blockage or any sign of anything closely related to a heart problem. Then my regular doctor instructed me to see a GI doctor. After an exam with the scope down my throat he said I have a mild case of heartburn and put me on the "purple pill". And that was all there was to it. Now my big question is, why didn't my regular doctor start me out first with the GI doctor rather than the Cardiologist????
