Having a difficult time getting the shell off 40 ft cattle cars.

I broke one doing what I would do with a 40 ft box car so I thought I'd seek a better method.

 

What brand and era? Picture?

 

Most are Bachmann Hong Kong.

 

The floor should just be a friction fit into the body. Use a knife blade between the edges of the floor and the body and gently coax the two apart. Some fit pretty tightly.
