Greetings from germany, that's what the topic means. I'm a 29 years old engineer and I found this board after looking for information about railroad in the US.

I hope you forgive me, because my english is not the best. Maybe you also can give some suggestions, if my grammar is wrong or something else.

Willkommen! I spent the summer in Germany back in '79. I stayed in Giessen and Hannover with relatives who where stationed there in the Army. I bought the album Autobahn by Kraftwerk at a department store. I had a great time.

If we graded on command of English, most of us Americans would fail!

Welcome aboard, and like Jim I have good memories (Bamberg and Kitzingen for me). Loved the system over there, get on in Bamberg and pretty much straight on through to London. Enjoy and hopefully you'll find what you're looking for and more!

Welcome! We are glad to have you.

One of our former staff members (Wolfgang) was from Germany and he did not speak English well. He was a great friend to many of us and we miss him a lot. He passed away a few years ago.

Welcome to the TrainBoard, happy to have you on board. My only exposure to Germany was on a Rhine River cruise about fifteen years ago. I was astonished by the continuous traffic at Cologne, and the amount of traffic on both sides of the river. DB is an impressive operation.

Welcome to Trainboard, I was in Schweinfurt in the late 70's, (and lots of other spots), I would love to see what's changed since then. I add my admiration for the DB. Lots of friendly, knowledgeable folks here.

Here is the Marklin car I bought in Frankfort back in 1979. I've kept it all these years without ever running it because it's made for Marklin track with the studs along the center of the ties. It shorts out DC systems. I still like the way it looks.
