well, I have an update on my two projects that I have going right now, Boylston Depot and the Columbia River Bridge. But do to some of the issues we seem to be having with the servers I can't show any pictures until I get railimages back. Sounds like it wont be too long though. I'll check back in over the weekend to see if railimages has been fixed.

Columbia River Bridge. Cheap Photoshop background and water just to give an idea as to where this is. So far I have completed the bottom portion and some of the top just to the middle sand bar in the river on the west end of the bridge. 4 Bottom trusses completed so far and quite a bunch to go! I also began working on the extra supports for the girders, one can be seen at the far west (back of photo) end of the bridge in between truss 1 and 2. Maybe I post a close up pick of this in a little while so you all can see it better. I need to order more girders and am waiting on some other parts to come in including my piers (which will need to be customized).

Next a little product review. I picked up the new walthers 45' log cars in Milw of course.

These are pretty nice for being a walthers product. I like them a lot. However, I did notice when I went to my local hobby story a lot of cars in the box (even the two packed that were shirked wrapped) had broken or unattached U shaped log braces (if that's what there called). Easy fix as they look like they were only glue to begin with. What is nice is the plastic case they come in. I like this as even some of the new top of the line manufactures are beginning to use cardboard boxes/cases for their railroad cars. I am happy with these overall!

Next update later this week is Boylston Depot. Should have all the walls put together by then and maybe even some painting!

    Greg-

What time frame do these log cars cover? My info is buried under a couple of other messy projects right now...

Looking good. I don't know if I would have the patience for a huge project like that. IIRC you've been working on this bridge for 2-3 months now and it appears have quite a bit to do. Keep up the good work.

thanks guys. As I said before without your responses to these little updates, I'm not sure I'd be able to keep going. thank you! This bridge is going to take some time as it is pretty much built from scratch.

Ken, when I'm finished I'll take you back in time with me! Maybe someday when this layout is completed I need to have you come on over. You can run some trains with me! I am not sure about the timeframe per se...I know I have seen some pics with very similar looking cars here in Washington.

Here's the closer view of the support I was speaking of in my other post. Nothing major but does add some detail. Again another quickly made backdrop in photoshop.

    Greg-

You might not want to have me come. Watching a grown man cry, is not a pretty picture!

One of these days, we'll be over to Eburg. Must visit my wife's family again.

    Keep it going!

Me too! For the time machine, that is!
Fantastic work, Greg, keep it up, I long to see this built nearly as much as Ken does!

Greg, superb work, I can only imagine how tedious, glad we can keep you stimulated, er, progressing. As for Ken, if you'd only said "cry a river", how wonderful a pun that would have been! Michael
