This is a little late but I saw this great modular layout from an Onslow Model Railroad Club, a N-Trak Modular Club in Jacksonville, NC, at the Greenberg Show in Virginia Beach. Two guys did most of the scenery work, so the layout has a great consistency. Each module has a great theme, but what most impressed me was great hand painted backdrop and the lighting system. They used gooseneck lamps that slipped into a wood block with a hole in it. They basically slip each light in, and plug them into a lighting main. Thanks to the good lighting I took some great shots for convention shots. Oh yeah the modelling isn't too shabby, and they were very friendly explaining what they used. They even engaged the kids which is how you pull the young ones into the hobby.

Interesting to see how they operated the lamps without daisy chaining extensions or power strips. That is a no, no with fire marshalls and electrical inspectors.
