I know we have a few fans in the mix. Not having enough action for a forum, there have been posts in the Ghost, Regional and other Fallen Flags. Hopefully, a search would bring those to light.

I'm not a GTW fan, as such. But am always interested in learning more, about many operations.

Just keep poking and prodding. Eventually someone else will show up, then another....

I always liked the GTW RR. It is sorta my "home" railroad... literally! What used to be the main line out of the former Elsdon Yard, now the Hayford industrial lead, is about 150' from my house which is on the west side of the tracks. As a kid I lived a 1/2 mile on the east side of the the main. The former Chicago Lawn passenger station is less than 1/2 mile north of my house. Used to see those big U class 4-8-4s,some of them semi-streamlined, pulling the passenger trains.
Any anecdotes you might wanna read?

Home road for a Michigan fan indeed! Sure do miss the red (orange) white & blues.

I get to run GT power on occasion, they are great for kicking cars! One the 4910 has been nicknamed the 2nd notch rocket! You hit notch 2 and hold on! I also was lucky enough to ride the Elsdon sub to Highlawn then on to the IC to Hawthorne on our old 507 train.Alas thats now the 337 out of Kirk and goes down the J to Matteson around Lowe's loop and up onto the IC Chicago sub now. We are however putting in a new connection so westbound J can go west ( north?) on the Elsdon at Griffth.
