OK, the last two contests ended a little faster than normal.

Here's your next mystery location, which I hope will give more ppl a chance to locate.

Time for a hint: This class III RR connects with 4 out of 7 class I RR.

I've been working this every night since it was posted, and I don't think this helps.

I'm certainly stumped at this point. A good head scratcher. But it wouldn't be any challenge nor much fun if too easy.

I was thinking MRL (colors on the loco), but they are class 2.

OK I'll narrow it down further for you. Rule out any state south of Missouri.

Aside from BNSF, MRL can only access one other railroad. At one point- Which is UPRR at Sandpoint, Idaho.

I was thinking Ft Worth & Western, but that just got axed.

OK. Now with that last clue, we've got to be east of the Mississippi River.

I'm not so sure. Probably, but maybe not. The big question--is that a Horst air filter or not?

West of the Mississippi, and Missouri northward, I cannot think of any Class III in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, etc, which would connect with four Class 1 companies. Westward from there, you only have BNSFand UP, so I lean eastward.

Horst filter box? On the engine below the white building? I don't see one which is obvious.

I need to clarify something here, which I didn't see before, sorry. They don't connect to the 4 class I RR directly, but through a partnership with a class II RR.

I can think of a few.

Something light is obscuring the walkway in shadow, and look at the shadow on the ground.

I saw that shadow on the ground. But it did not really seem like a yoke style filter box. After several tries with a couple of different photo editing programs, I can now see it better. Could be....

I've got two statements for today, not clues since I'm gonna answer/verify some of what you've been writing about.

BoxcabE50 narrowed the search area correctly.

It is a Horst air filter, if its that bulky thing on the locos "shoulder" you're talking about.

    There's a SW7 and a GP10 among the locos of which there are 3.

I was asked in an earlier thread to give a tutorial on, how to find these locations so fast, and I wrote a link to a website where also this RR is represented.

Happy hunting - This was the last hint in this contest, unless it isnt located by friday.

I went through my list of GP10s on day 2...still haven't found it.

I've looked and looked. GP10 information. A Class III Pennsylvania and eastward, with four Class I RRs which could be accessed via a Class II. A three engine roster, including an SW7 and GP10. Nothing matches. Went through that site noted from the tutorial, Pennsylvania, New England vicinities. Nothing seems to match. Every one I try has a different roster from the "three" hint.

If you've been through the list, then you've seen it. When you write: "every one I try has a different roster from the "three" hint" Then if I get this right, you mean that the third roster doesn't match a SW7 or a GP10.
If I understood you correctly, then yes, the third roster isn't a SW7 or a GP10, it's something else.

Just get back on it, its there.
