Work? Interfering with hobbies and fun? mg: Finding GN date nails should be more important. Ha ha ha.... Boxcab E50
Hmmm. Fire the boss! Or maybe you need a different line of work? Surely the USAF has a specialty for model railroaders and railfans? Seems very important to me! Boxcab E50
I caught this one yesterday. Only had the camera on my pocket pc handy. Lettered for "Escanaba & Lake Superior".
How many engines, does the E&LS now have in that scheme? Seems to me the first ever done, was a Baldwin. S12?? Boxcab E50
Boxcab, I know where some GN date nails are, I asume they are from 1968 since they say 68 on the head, as far as GN date nails go are these anywhere near rare? Kevin
Kevin- I doubt they've any large worth. Maybe fifty cents each. But if you know where there are some, perhaps a few migrating into your pocket, would have some future trade value? Things do change, as time matches on.... Boxcab E50
Thanks boxcab, I found them in Balmer yard last week, now next time I get a chance i will pull a few up. Kevin
Today in Bellingham, I saw an old GN gondola. I didn't get a pic, its the old never having a camera with you bit. It was newly stenceled GN yes thats right not a typo. The circule where the old rocky herald was still visable, neat find hope to see it around for a while.
Date nails... I have found dozens of '68s so they are not rare. 69's are more rare, I hear, as most were never installed? I am unsure. The oldest one I have is a '30.
I was just down there tonight and it looks like they are re-doing the "hump" and yard. All sorts of track machines and related equipment in there. Coudn't see much else though, it started raining buckets again! :rain::rain::rain:
