Greetings all, I was referred to this site by in2tech when we started talking model trains in our flight simulation hobby discord. I've gotten back into the hobby with my two sons. I had a fun setup when I was a child on the dining room table with a Sante Fe red and silver HO set. I'm partial to Santa Fe paint schemes because of that. Of course, as I got older and my parents retired and moved to warmer climate they got rid of anything the kids didn't go back home to pick up, including the HO set I forgot about! I've started with HO again, and am working on a layout before I buy that plywood and place it in our basement hobby room. Right now its on the dining room table in version 1 of the layout. I still have extra tracks to use seen in picture but need to figure out how to integrate them so I can get the right size board to lay them out. Eventually, I would like an N scale setup in my office/game room of the house.
Welcome, glad you found us. I believe all great layouts start on dining room tables, at least some of them.
I referred him here for the reasons he stated. I started my N Scale layout on my parents dining room table back in the 1980's with a Santa Fe kit of course. Doesn't every body start with the RED shinny locomotive set As he said I have a Discord channel and we met talking about and still do on a regular basis, flight simulation. Just recently we added an area for General Hobbies and we started talking about Plastic Models, but Model Trains woke us all up, including me to work on my N Scale! Ohh I forget, Welcome Got Burner, see you here I hope a lot! As you get back into the hobby since your childhood!
