Thought you guys would appreciate the shots we took Monday... Taking oil by the barrel in Silver Plume Backing away at Devil's Gate Working the grade, loud and proud. Crossing Clear Creek
Thanks Thanks guys! You're most kind, especially for someone who hasn't got a real camera, just a point & shoot (with a fixed lens at that!)
Snowy on Friday Hi all, Just walked in the door a bit ago,... back in northern VA. My ride behind #9 on Friday was much more, how shall I say, "unique" than coloradorailroads' ride,... shown in the above pics. It was 30 degrees, snowing and sleeting to beat the band. They'd oversold the last run of the day, so they added three more cars for a total of seven to the consist, only four of which were covered. The three busloads of old folk and families with young children commandeered the covered cars, so the rest of us brave (read "stoopid") railfans rode from Silver Plume to Georgetown and back out in the open cars. Still, it was a real treat to ride on the last day of the golden aspens while the snow and sleet came down sideways and #9 chuffed away on the run. I have pics and two brief videos, but I'll have to research how to upload them here. Cheers! :shade: ...Karl
There's a memory that will always be with you! If you have uploading questions, you can post in either the RailImages Admin Forum, or here. Am sure we can quickly help. As we'll want to see what you have! Boxcab E50
Whups! Oh, I need more than simple help. I pulled a real doofus move. My good digital camera can also take simple videos (vs a nice digital camcorder that can also take marginal stills). Here's the dilemma: I think nothing of taking a vertical "portrait" oriented still when that's the best composition, then just rotating it 90 degrees left or right once I've gotten it into my PC for a slide show, etc. So, at the time, I thought nothing of taking a vertical "portrait" oriented VIDEO of a sweet run-by of #9 down in Georgetown to get the entire effect of billowing steam and smoke from the stack. Well, "duh on me". Videos are always projected/shown/displayed in horizontal "landscape" mode. How the heck do I rotate a vertical/portrait VIDEO to horizontal/landscape once I have it on the PC? That's the one that's going to take some research, if it's possible at all. I can probably upload it as-is, but everybody'd get a crick in the neck looking at it in landscape. Stay tuned. :shade: ...Karl
