I have a toy train and am wondering what gage/scale it is and if I can do something more with it. It's a Marklin steamer with a passenger car and caboose (German). Of course Christmas decoration and battery powered. The track measures 1.024"/26.000MM between the inside of the rails. My HO measures 0.665" so don't work together. Just wondering if I could do something more for next season.
    Thanks Richard

Looking down this surprisingly long list of potentialities for your case, German ZO looks to be the closest. Looks to be a very dated set, but who's to say you can't find more track on eBay, or maybe an email to Marklin USA will net you some useful info.

Is larger than OO Scale. Not familiar with the size described. Or perhaps my memory is falling short today....

I was able to find a couple places that sell them year round but they aren't Marklin, the dealers just sell Marklin and this is a True Bright. They have parts for them but wouldn't open a box to measure the track. There are curved, straight and turn outs available but they couldn't tell me is they would fit my train and didn't know if they were the metal I want to convert from the battery.
Just have to keep looking or just leave it alone. And just stay with the HO or N.
I barely used it last year anyway.

Gauge! I mean that's what it is where I live.
When you run into something that's an aardvark oddity it can be frustrating at best to find something that is a match.
Early on in the states there was some different stuff to say the least. We would learn later that it was the same across the pond.
    Don't know and I can't help...sorry about that.

Thanks a lot guys, I was just dreaming. Just like the Petticoat Junction loco, I found one on ebay in HO but lost out on it. (family problems) I have the coach.
