Railroad line's traffic decreases June 13, 2008 Genesee & Wyoming announced its May traf­fic volumes decreased by 2.8 percent, or 1,867 carloads compared to May 2007. The company oper­ates shortline railroads, including the Meridian & Bigbee, which runs from Montgomery to Meridian, Miss. GWI announced it hauled 449 carloads of haulage traffic in the Meridian & Bigbee in May 2007. That traffic, which is hauled for oth­er railroads, was the re­sult of 2005's hurri­canes..
