Thanks! I really like that train! I ordered new couplers for it for me Christmas! It has a tendency to uncouple here n there very randomly, due to the age of the couplers, I assume.
And another Empire Builder evening roll by, And as it entered town, the 2511 is waiting on the main for the 2587 and train to enter the depot siding, And on a bright and sunny morning, heeling around a curve, And, yes, there is a diseasel here..........feeling out of place among so much gorgeous steam!!!
Aarrrr, matey!! Best be careful what you say there!! That there diseasel may be on the upgrade list to become a gorgeous steam locomotive!!!
Early today, it was time to run trains and ponder family gathering later in the day. And ponder more deeply, as the coffee took effect, the True meaning of Christmas, involving a Baby in a feed trough in a tiny town near Jerusalem.......
An early morning still from the video, And a close up of Saint Nick and the conductor and a RR executive, A portion of the NPBH's new acquisitions, the rest of which are enroute, Back to the coal bunker that started the track work and so now it is time to start back on the building, My beginning of modifying the upper half to be more NP-like, A bit of track, the Depot's house track, A final view of the bunker, which still needs raised up another 1/4", and a lot of other stuff!
Micro Trains came out with a series of cars printed after famous model railroads. This one was a prolific writer in the early years of Model RRing. I had never heard of it, but it really intrigued me! I suppose it is a fine way to honor and respect those who paved the way in our hobby/craft. Commissioned by NMRA.
So a tribute to pioneering model railroads, like Gorre & Daphetid, Virginian & Ohio, and others. Neat!
I have the G&D box car; V&O hopper; T&RGW box car. But had never heard about M&V. Nothing is coming into mind about it. Hmmmm.....
I'll get a picture of the back of the box, it has a short bit about him and the RR. Nothing comes up on google search....
Pretty good deal right there! I've seen , and had, a few of these cars in Z-scale as well. But they go for alot more!
Been making some progress on the coal bunker, between working on other stuff, like my business and keeping folk working...weird how that gets in the way of model railroading! I have added a few cross members now and am working on further details to the trestlework. Did receive some more cars for Christmas today, First up, the G&D, which has always been a big influence, Then the T&RGW, which was fun! Lastly, this outfit just had to be included!
