Hi all. I purchased the Simulator and cannot get it to work. After downloading into my system, and clicking on the play now window, I get a window that says I need an accelerator. I have downloaded Directx 8.1. Please help as I am really interested in trying this software. Thanx in advance. ############# chooch#######
Not sure this will fix but there are two things you can check. If you have PC(Windows) (1) DirectX settings. select(click) START menu " Settings " Control Panel run(double click) DIRECTX (icon) *** in DIRECTX select Direct3D tab and DirectDraw tab {check the allow/use acceleration box in each} (2) Windows Graphic settings. right click on (desktop)MyComputer select Properties from menu select Performance tab select Graphics button ** see if acceleration slider is to far right. I use version 8.0 of DirectX. Somewhere I read that 8.1 may be problem ?? Not sure of this one ... short memory! If above settings are set then problem may be hardware related. When I purchased the Train Simulator I didn't know that the Train Simulator need a certain kind of Video Card. I have an ATI 128 woo woo woo Video Card, and the driver on it is outdated. So when I went to update it, it came up with the message that This Video Driver is not compadible with your current video display adapter. So anyone purchasing the Simulator must check your video card and driver to make the Simulator work. I gave up with it and went to a different computer and hope to get a laptop. [ 09.
