Just built one of the great FRISCO transfer caboose kits but I'm at a loss to know the correct paint scheme, markings or placement. None of my books (nor, unfortunately, my memory) serve me on this one. Can anyone help with some information. Thanks. Also.....WHEN IS SOME MANUFACTURER GOING TO RECOGNIZE THAT THERE ARE FOLKS IN THE MIDWEST WHO MODEL SLSF AND MKT? I getting sick of having to strip Pennsy and ATSF off my new loco's for repainting.

Leon, 1 picture may be of help in the new section of the second printing of Frisco Power by Joe Colias unless that is not the right caboose.

Who makes this transfer caboose kit that Leon spoke of? Where could I get one? I'm like Leon in that I really wish that the manufacturers would WAKE UP and realize that there are people who model FRISCO and MKT. I get absolutely sick to death of every model that comes out being decorated for Pennsy, Reading, and Rutland. I'm certain that if a new model comes out of the very newest GE AC 25,000 horsepower loco it will be painted for Pennsy, Reading, and Rutland. Atlas just brought out the GP 40 and they offer it in New England Central. Man, there can't be more than three people in America that model the NEC! Katy had the GP 40, but there's no way we can get that it seems. Sure gets old.

The transfer caboose I mentioned is a great mini-kit by Nick Molo of Australia marketed through several sources. I got mine through Walthers. It requires a Red Caboose 42' flat and a lot of patience but it's well worth it. Only wish he had included a proto photo so we could paint and decal it without spending a month doing research. Can anyone post a photo of one of these great "flat car" cabooses for those of us who missed seeing the real thing?

Good news for anyone building the great Nick Molo FRISCO transfer caboose and wanting to know how to paint the durn thing properly. There are pictures of two of the series, #1315 and #1319 on pages 15 and 16 of Volumn 4 of John Henderson's 'CABINS, CRUMMIES & HACKS'. Minor differences in handrails and placement of the oil tank are easy fixes.

Just noticed that Walthers is advertising the great MOLOCO Frisco Transfer Caboose kit in their current sale catalog for less than $10. All you need besides paint and decals is a Red Caboose 42' flat, a Utah Pacific short caboose stack and some brass wire to complete it.
