    You ain't gonna believe this!!

It's the caboose that was sitting in front of the Frisco railroad museum, and comes with ALL the memorabilia inside, including the track it's sitting on. It's a one-of-a-kind express/baggage caboose, used out of Enid, OK on the Southwestern Division. OMR's got the price slashed to $10,000.

Sounds really nice .. I'd sure like to have one, but it would probably take another $10K to get it out here [IMG]

Just curious- Why are they parting with this? Apparently for a large reduction in asking price.....? Are they having financial problems? Or raising money for another project?

All the documents, articles, etc. in the CTC building (the museum's former home) are being stored in the former Frisco office building next to the yard. The rolling stock is being sold off, and includes the round-end diner Oklahoma City. No idea why they're being sold off, unless there's no place to put them.

That Frisco side-door caboose is a real gem, and deserves to be in another museum where everyone (esp. us Frisco Folks) can see it & remember how it was.........

    Bob-

The caboose looks well kept. As a formerly active RR museum person, my curiousity is up as to why they're selling. If you happen to learn anything, I'd be interested in knowing.

Next to the car they have a collection of MOW speeders at least two were Frisco. I'll get some photo's to post on my facebook page.

    Two things:

One, welcome to Trainboard, Murphy! Started my present career in Ft. Smith back in 1980, and got to ride the Frisco's North Side Switcher one night. Still a great place to shoot, what with A&M, FSM and UP.

Second, thakns for the update. It's good to know the caboose is in a good home.
