    Hi everybody.
I finally got around to getting the old family Super 8 movies shot by my dad transferred on to DVD. Colin at Cine2DVD based here in the U.K transferred about 2000 ft of stuff from the 1970s for me. unlike many places he scans each frame in rather than pointing a projector at a screen and filming it with a camcorder and he also gives the films a clean to try and reduce the muck they inevitably have on them after 40 odd years! Hidden among the footage was some railway stuff I hadn't seen for decades so I've edited it out and put it on youtube

It starts off with footage of the North Yorkshire Moors railway, one of Englands premier tourist lines, back in the early days of preservation

followed by the Keighley and Worth valley railway which was a bit more established by then.

There is a short clip of an 8F 2-8-0 coming off the Midlands Hope valley route past Totley East signalbox which must have been one of the last steam worked empty mineral trains to traverse the route and then some tantalising glimpses of diesels at York during the transition period from BR Green to Railblue color schemes. A few short clips on the East Coast Mainline close by the famous '200 miles to Edinburgh ' trackside sign at Beningborough are foolwed by some distant shots of Sheffield Midland station taken from the newly constructed ( and now qite notorious) Park Hill Flats.

Been shooting some new stuff on the Cumbrian Coast line now the days are not so short and the weathers getting better so more soon

    cheers
