I've been up in there. It's dense with small trees, but accessible. There's lots of loose rails and ties, I assume where ppl have taken rail to sell for scrap. I just need two 5' sections. I could ask permission, but idk who still owns the land. Either the Army, Norfolk Southern or the little known GoCo Transit Co. I've never even heard of...
It's hard to say, but I'd guess that's at least 70 LB rail. You're looking at 115 LBS for a five foot section there. If it's 90 LB, a 150 LB lift.
You may even have ~ 100 LB rail there. Do you see any inscriptions on it? Most rail will have its weight on the rail's web.
I planned on getting better photos in the light. I looked for markings but couldn't see. Just snapped a couple with flash on hoping to find something. It was laid in 1929, if not mistaken.
I saw this 2 car set, today. It didn't say anything abt patched and no mention of "family tree" series. I can't quite make out the lettering. It's not SBD or CSX. Costly @ $62.00

Very nice. Fun Fact: Some of CN's actual cars have an English spelling on one side and French ("Canadien") on the other. Micro-Trains reproduces this if appropriate for the car. Years ago, some collectors thought this was a misspelling and snapped them up hoping for a big score.
Its grandfather was perhaps the first Kadee/Micro-Trains care I ever purchased, sometime in the mid-1970s. Kadee/Micro-Trains had just begun to make freight cars in N just a few years prior. Their detail and "rollability" was leagues above others, changing N Scale forever. Kadee/Micro-Trains actually offered them in both Rapido and Kadee coupler versions back then.

I saw some MTs with the gold emblem, but didn't pay attention to the spelling. So far, I'm really impressed by Microtrains. Some are pricey, but most regular, unweathered are very reasonable in price. I haven't thrown any of them on the scale to check the weight and haven't checked to find out if or how the shells can be removed. Overall, I love 'em.

A few posts back, I showed the silver Seaboard Airline boxcar I bought. I was going to buy this one, at first, but... what's up with the door in the 2nd photo? Does it look off track to anyone else? All the description says is "brand new".
