It was a gloomy morning last Wednesday, July 6, 2005. I had a chance for a brief conversation with the engineer of this FL9 in which he informed me that many of the replacements for the FL9s on Metro North were now "on property." He said this could be the last time we see 2027 departing Danbury in revenue service.

Eight P40s have been leased from Amtrak. Although it is not known exactly when they will start service on MN, it could be, "any minute."

I hope the museum and historical people are standing by. Wanting to preserve some of these units?

The Danbury Railway Museum already has two FL9s, 2006 and 2012. I understand a couple are are either at, or will go to the Railroad Museum of New England. As for which ones, I don't know at this time. Unconfirmed, but I had heard that the Connecticut East Railroad Museum might also receive one.

That's good news. We've seen thrown away, or lost too many pieces of history.
