La Thrommer With the advent of Grandure Lady in my life I felt it was time to redesign the "Thrommer Locomotive". In her honor: The front end including cockpit and air scoops are based on a F7A - Corsair II. The size and double ended design is based on the HHP-8s that blow past my window on hauling AMTRAK Regionals. The colors are Baltimore and Ohio passenger blue / gold. Yes, they will have wheels with couplers - as much as I would like to make it mag lev.
You old smooth talker you!! They say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. It seems the way to a womans heart just may be through a Locomotive in her name...:tb-wink: .
My "fantasy" scheme for Central California Traction. They don't have any GP15s but I had an undec that was going to be a Cal Northern engine (got the factory version before it got started). Still needs a few details and touch up. I've kicked around building a couple modern (SD60/Dash 9) units in the WP Heritage scheme or Zephyr Silver/Orange. My rationalization is that WP has been sold off as a subsidiary of UP. Hmmmmm.......
A WP Heritage GP60. Since WP had only 4 axle GPs and U-Boats the SDs are a little big. The "New Image" version of a B32-8HW
A "what-if" for the Frisco, assuming it was still around: A kind-of retro unit, recalling the "racehorse" E-units of the 1950s. Hey, if KCS can have Rrtro-Belles and UP can do "Heritage" units......................
Okay everyone. This is a query for the person who did the Baldwin sharknose in Great Northern colors: I've been trying to think up a good new paint scheme for a couple sharks that I have. Right now they're just the black mariah. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts what a sharknose might look like in a green and white scheme reminiscent of the BNSF cream and green colors. I'm not sure what software people were using to do their renderings, but if anyone wants to take a stab at it: feel free :tb-biggrin:.
I completely forgot about this thread. Here's some more fantasy/variations to schemes I've done. Guess that's enough for now.... Brian
I like the L&C geep. I live about 45 mins from the line, and they always have something interesting going on.
Here's one for you guys. Did this a few years ago. I think this paint job really suits this carbody. Just sold it to a buddy of mine at the national train show a few weeks ago. Did another one like this and a 9 car train of superliner cars in matching paint. Looked pretty neat going around the big n-trak layout at the show. Nate
These drawings are pure fantasy as the government in and around Atlanta are opposed to public transportation.
Now that these are coming up on the used market it is time to add some new locomotives to the Chicago & North Western fleet.
