I've known for most of my left that my Great Grandfather and Great-Great Uncle worked for UP out of Laramie WY. I was at a family funeral the other day and my dad says out of the blue, "You know your Grandfater worked for GWR" out of Loveland for a few years.

    Umm, NO!

We lost Grandpa in 1974; sure wish I would have know this 3+ decades ago...

    Ummm... NO!

I wish I'd talked more with some of my relatives. I was able to find out a bit about a couple of them, from a former compatriot. Not as direct, but very helpful.

My brother in law tape recorded my wife's grandfather describing his work duties on the Norfolk & Western. During Spring and Summer he was a pitcher on the company baseball team but the rest of the year he worked as a welder in the Roanoke shops patching coal hoppers. Very interesting stories.
